Pre-Registration Form

This form helps us confirm your eligibility and provide guidance on upgrades that are suitable for your home.

Our team will review your submission and if approved, you will receive an eligibility code and a list of upgrade opportunities and available rebates.

Important: Ensure you submit your pre-registration form in full. After submission, you will land on a "Thank-You" page and receive an automated email with your application number. If you did not get this email, contact our team. You must be pre-approved and receive an eligibility code before completing any upgrades. If this requirement is not met, you will be denied for rebates.

New Program Rebate Eligibility Requirement: For participants that pre-register on or after February 1, 2024, the home property must have a total assessed value at or under $1,230,000 in the BC Assessment listing for the address of the applicant’s home in the year of program registration.

Before you start:​

Have the following information ready:

  • check_circleUtility account numbers for your electricity and natural gas accounts (if applicable).
  • check_circleIncome verification documentation.
  • check_circleLandlord Consent Form (if you rent).

 

After you pre-register:

Our team will review your submission. If approved:

  • check_circleYou will receive a list of upgrade opportunities and available rebates.
  • check_circleYou can sign up for energy coaching or a virtual assessment call.
  • check_circleYou can receive help finding a contractor to complete your upgrades.

 

Income verification:

We will be verifying that your income meets the eligibility requirements. Income verification documentation for each member of the household that is over the age of 18 (excluding dependents). Documentation must be dated within 12 months of your program pre-registration date. When pre-registering, you will be asked to provide one of the following documents:

  • circleNotice of Assessment (NOA) or Proof of Income Statement from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). To get your NOA or Proof of Income Statement, please contact the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. Ensure that all information on the NOA or Proof of Income Statement is redacted except for your name, effective date, and line 15000. 
  • circleVerification of income or disability assistance, e.g. your monthly report (cheque stub), or a printed copy of your Confirmation of Assistance if you're registered for My Self Serve. 
  • circleA Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) cheque stub, acknowledgement letter or benefit change letter from BC Housing. 
  • circleA Rental Assistance Program acknowledgment letter or benefit change letter from BC Housing. 
  • circleGuaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) notice. 
  • circleBank statements for 3 months with all information except name and pay deposits redacted or 3 recent paystubs with all information except name and payment amounts redacted.
  • circleProof of participation or eligibility in BC Hydro and FortisBC’s Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP), including eligibility confirmation letters or emails, approval letters or emails or other ECAP documentation that demonstrates proof of participation or eligibility.
  • circle

    An Endorsement Form completed by a professional or organization with knowledge of a participant’s financial situation, where they can attest to their income meeting the program criteria.
